Driveway Sign, 2024

The grand setting of this home required an equally grand entrance. The difficult construction of the home on the side of a cliff required years of perseverance and moxie, hence, Moxie Manor. Welcoming visitors to the fantastic views of natural cliffs, a 100% steel sign was erected over 2 stories in the air.

Designed by the customer and manufactured on a plasma CNC, the sign maximizes views of the cliff while also being installed high enough to allow delivery trucks up the hillside to the home. The steel sign is 20’ wide by 4’ tall and is installed 16’ above the driveway with two 6” x 6” x 24’ steel beams used in skyscrapers. Night viewing of the sign is enhanced by soft and diffuse lighting installed on each post.

Although requiring significant engineering, fabrication, and labor, the result was well worth the effort by Grey Harmony and homeowner both.
