Steel Fire Pit, 2022

The future owner of this installation requested a sleek, functional, and durable fire feature for their new home. Over the course of 3 months, the client and Grey Harmony Studio collaborated on the design and functionality of what would be the focal point of their primary entertainment space. The result was a custom fire feature larger than any currently available, producing nearly half a million BTUs.

This 96 X 36 inch steel fire pit is constructed entirely of 3/16” hot rolled steel with an aluminum tray insert for a 470K BTU tree style natural gas burner. Although weighing in at 750 lbs., it is cantilevered on all sides thereby appearing to float, no matter the viewing angle. Unlike other options available on the market, this installation is welded and sanded in it’s entirety; not a single seam or imperfection remains.
